Requirements and Eligibility

Offered by Sciences Po, the UBC Faculty of Arts and the UBC Sauder School of Business, the UBC Sciences Po Dual Degree is a direct entry to first year degree program, open to both domestic and international applicants. Students in the UBC Sciences Po Dual Degree program are bright, enthusiastic individuals who have a keen interest in global affairs and perspectives, and an interest in an interdisciplinary social sciences curriculum that includes history, law, political science, economics, and sociology.

Eligibility

The UBC Sciences Po Dual Degree program is open to both domestic and international students. The program is not open to students with a previous degree or students who have already completed some or any post-secondary studies. This program is direct entry from high school only. French fluency is not required for the Dual Degree unless you are choosing to study in the Europe-Africa program in Reims.

If you are unsuccessful in your admission to the Dual Degree program, you will be automatically considered for admission to UBC’s BA or BCom program (based on your program choice). For consideration to the Sciences Po BA program (and not UBC), please contact Sciences Po directly.

General Admission and Program-Specific Requirements

All students applying to the UBC Sciences Po Dual Degree program must meet both the UBC general admission requirements, as well as the program-specific requirements for either the Faculty of Arts or the Sauder School of Business.

Requirements differ based on your region or type of secondary school program. To find out what your general admission and program-specific requirements are, see the pages below and look for “Arts” or “Commerce”:

All applicants must meet UBC’s general admission requirements, program-specific requirements to either the BA or BCom, and provide proof of English language competency. Students are assessed on a combination of their academic achievement, intellectual readiness, and aspirations.

Supplemental Application

All applicants to the UBC Sciences Po Dual Degree program are required to submit a supplemental application. The supplemental application is completed online at http://sciencespo.ubc.ca. You will be asked to submit some personal information, a written response, curriculum vitae (CV), and copies of your academic transcripts. For full details, see the Supplemental Application Information page.

The supplemental application deadline is January 9, 2017.

Applicant Interviews

All applicants will be notified in mid-February about the status of their application. If you are shortlisted for the Dual Degree program, you will be invited to meet with representatives from both UBC and Sciences Po for an interview. This interview is required for all shortlisted applicants, and you will be asked to select an interview date and location in the supplemental application. You will have the option of choosing an in-person or virtual interview.

Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified of their ongoing consideration for the regular UBC BA or BCom program.
