Dates & Deadlines

The application process to the UBC Sciences Po Dual Degree program includes a rigorous selection process to ensure that applicants are the right fit for the program. As you begin your application, it’s important to familiarize yourself with key dates and deadlines:

  • Interview dates if you are shortlisted for an admission interview

Deadlines for Applications for the 2019/2020 Academic Year
September 1, 2018 UBC online application and Dual Degree supplemental application opens
December 1, 2018 Apply by this date in order to be considered for the Major Entrance Scholarship and UBC Centennial Scholars Entrance Award (open to Canadian students and permanent residents).

Direct-entry high school students who follow the Canadian curriculum and wish to be considered for first round offers of admission must apply by this date.

January 8, 2019 Deadline for applying to UBC, and submitting the Dual Degree supplemental application for the 2019 Winter Session (September to April).
Mid-February 2019 All applicants notified of application status. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an admission interview.
February 20 to March 8, 2019 Shortlist candidate interviews in Toronto, Paris, and Vancouver.
By April 1, 2019 Conditional offer of admission

All offers of admission are conditional and require applicants to maintain the same level of achievement as at the time of application.

May 1, 2019 Accepting or declining your Dual Degree offer.
Late August 2019 Official start of program at Sciences Po campuses in France.

All applicants will be notified in mid-February about the status of their application. If you are shortlisted for the Dual Degree program, you will be invited to meet with representatives from both UBC and Sciences Po for an interview. This interview is mandatory for all shortlisted applicants, and you will be asked to select an interview date and location in the supplemental application. You will have the option of choosing an in-person or virtual interview.

Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified of their ongoing consideration for the regular UBC BA program.

If you are choosing a virtual interview, you will be asked to include the name and contact information of an individual who can serve as a proctor during your interview. A proctor is an individual who monitors a student, and cannot be someone who is related to the student, or present a conflict of interest. Your proctor can be a teacher or a counsellor at your school.
