Admissions Process

Applying to the UBC Sciences Po Dual Degree is a two-part process. See the "How To Apply" page for full details and deadlines. The application deadline for the 21/22 year is January 5, 2021.

Applicants selected for an interview will be contacted by mid-February. If you are selected for an interview, please ensure you send your required documents to UBC Admissions by the appropriate deadlines. Successful candidates will be notified in early April.

Yes. All applicants will be notified regardless of whether they have been shortlisted for an interview or not.

Yes, you will be considered for the regular UBC BA, and UBC Sciences Po Dual Degree at the same time. The supplemental application process operates away from UBC Admissions  - if you have questions about your supplemental application, please ensure you contact the Program Manager.

No. If you are interested in attending Sciences Po if you are not admitted to the Dual Degree program, you must apply directly to Sciences Po in addition to submitting your UBC Dual Degree application.

If you are not selected to be interviewed and you do not wish to attend UBC at all, you do not have to send any further information to UBC.

The UBC Sciences Po Dual Degree is intended for prospective students who have no prior post-secondary studies. Students who already have some post-secondary studies are not eligible to apply for the program. This does not apply to students who receive postsecondary completion for IB, AP, A-level, and other such coursework, nor does is apply to Québec students attending Cégep: these credits may be transferred to apply to up to 12 credits of the UBC degree.

Submitting Documents

Please send your transcripts and documents directly to UBC Admissions here. Please do NOT send hard copies of your transcripts to the address listed below.

You must submit interim and official final transcripts to UBC Admissions as a part of your online UBC application. You will also be asked to submit copies of your Grades 10 and 11 transcript and interim Grade 12 transcripts as a part o your supplemental application.

No. Please do not send hard copies of transcripts to the Dual Degree Program. We only need electronic copies of your transcripts, which you can upload with your supplemental application. The Dual Degree program will also look at the transcripts that you send to UBC Admissions.

We do not receive recommendation letters as a part of your UBC Sciences Po Dual Degree application. Unsolicited recommendations letters that are sent to the admissions committee will not be considered as it would not allow the other applicants the same opportunity.

Please have your exam scores sent directly to UBC Admissions, and not to the program.

All documents required for your application must be sent to UBC Admissions. See their How To Submit Documents and When To Submit Documents pages. Once you have completed your supplemental application, we will be able to see the rest of your documents as you submit them to UBC Admissions.


The official tuition fee charges are placed in the UBC Calendar. You will find these amounts referenced in other areas of the website but this is the official tuition page. In addition, the tuition fees are adjusted each year.

A good place to start is the "What it Costs" webpage here.  It is important, when considering your expenses that you factor in the 6 credits of UBC courses completed in the last two weeks of August at the Reims campus, just before the start of second year.  Also, the 6 credits of UBC courses completed in the last two weeks of August at the UBC Vancouver campus, just before the start of third year.  In total you will complete 75 credits of UBC coursework.

There are two types of scholarships available – entrance scholarships which will be assessed and awarded at the time of admission, and continuing scholarships that you will be eligible for when you return to UBC for year three.

No. You can only use your UBC entrance awards once you return to UBC to begin your fall term (September-April tuition). UBC scholarships cannot be applied to the required summer courses.
